R&D Capabilities

SINOPEC Catalyst Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “SCC”) boasts powerful technical innovation supporting systems. SINOPEC Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, SINOPEC Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals, Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry, SINOPEC Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology and Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry are responsible for the lab researches of new catalytic materials, new catalyst products (including new formulas and new grades), and new processes for catalyst manufacturing. SCC Engineering Research Center is responsible for the research and application development of catalyst preparation engineering and clean production technologies, and it will make efforts to convert the technologies developed by the above research institutes into industrial technologies and products. With years of efforts, with cooperation and independent development, SCC has formed relatively complete product series ( nearly 200 brands), including oil refining catalyst, olefin polymerization catalyst, basic organic raw materials catalyst, aromatic hydrocarbon adsorbent and coal chemical catalyst; and developed the complete sets of technologies of 50,000t/y FCC catalyst plant and 5,000t/y hydrogenation catalyst plant. SCC has basically achieved the technologies for large-scale, automatic, continuous and clean catalyst production.

Sinopec Corp Research Institute of Petroleum Processing:owns development power and research advantage for packaged technique for a complete petroleum refining plant covering from crude oil assessment, various petroleum refining technologies and techniques, catalyst development to petroleum R&D and assessment.

SINOPEC Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry:its R&D mainly focuses on four fields, i.e. ethylene technique and organic chemical product, polyolefin catalyst and its process research, polymer material and chemical environment protection.

Fushun Research Institute of Petroleum and Petrochemicals:it mainly engages in development of hydrocracking catalyst and its technical skill, development of fraction hydrofining catalyst and its technical skill, development of residual oil hydrotreating catalyst and its technical skill, development of hydrotreating catalyst for petroleum wax-family product and special solvent and their technical skill and development of semi-regenerative fixed bed catalytic reforming catalyst and its technical skill.

Shanghai Petrochemical Research Institute Of Sinopec:it engages in R&D and application for packaged petrochemical technique including basic organic raw material, secondary processing of organic raw material and synthesis of polymer material and relevant catalyst and catalytic material.

Shanghai Research Institute of Chemical Industry:the key development field of its is organic macromolecule sector which focuses on polyolefin catalyst, relevant purification technique and functional polymer material.

SCC Engineering Research Center is composed of six engineering and technology research laboratories and eight professional engineering technology test platforms. It mainly engages in the research and application development of the engineering technologies for the preparation of oil refining catalysts, petrochemical catalysts, coal chemical catalysts and aromatic hydrocarbon adsorbents as well as the energy-saving and environmentally-friendly technologies for catalyst production. It has the capabilities of technology development and integration of proprietary equipment for catalyst preparation and the design of complete sets of technology process packages.
