RMS-3 residue HDS catalyst

RMS-3 residue HDS catalyst

Overview of product performance and technical characteristics:

RMS-3, a hydrodesulfurization (HDS) catalyst, is the main hydrotreating catalyst to remove sulfur, nitrogen and CCR (Conradson Carbon Resid) in residue. RMS-3 is a “Butterfly” extrudate of alumina promoted with cobalt and molybdenum and possesses the characteristics of fairly high pore volume and pore size, centralized pore distribution, appropriate acid strength and density, etc.. It has very high HDS activity with good activity for removal of nitrogen and CCR in the residue. Moreover, RMS-3 has a high metal deposition tolerance, which helps to expand the cycle life of unit operation.

The catalyst is loaded in the rear of demetallization catalyst in residue hydrotreating (RHT) unit. Its main role is to eliminate the impurities as sulfur, CCR, nitrogen and metal, etc., in the residue oil.
