Recently, the YS-9010 silver catalyst, developed by Beijing ResearchInstitute of Chemical Industry and produced by SCC , has completed its activatingin the ethylene glycol unit of Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Theresults show that YS-9010 silver catalyst has 0.5% higher selectivity than YS-8810silver catalyst and saved 150 tons of ethylene, which has met the expectation.

In September 2016, by taking the advantage of overhaul of ethyleneglycol unit in Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., YS-9010 silver catalystrealized its first industrial application at home. The successful activating ofYS-9010 silver catalyst this time has further strengthened the leading positionof Sinopec in the production and R&D of silver catalysts.
