Recently, our silver catalyst has passed the anniversary evaluation on the application in glycol plant of SINOPEC Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. In one year’s  application, the silver catalyst’s selectivity exceeds the expected target of 2.1% and its reaction temperature is 7.79 celsius degrees lower than the expected temperature, thus providing favorable conditions for future extension of service life of the catalyst.

The catalyst is a newly China-made product jointly developed and applied by SCC, SINOPEC Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry and SINOPEC Shangai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. In 2011, the catalyst was firstly put into industrial application in SINOPEC Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd., and proved the best record on unit ethylene consumption in the glycol plant for three years.
