By mid-February, the 85,000 t/y dry-gas-to-ethylbenzene plant of SINOPEC Guangzhou Company has achieved stable and efficient operation for more than 9 months. Under the overload operation condition, the calibration results show that at the conversion rate of ethylene is more than 99.7%, the purity of ethylbenzene is more than99.8%. It is expected that the regeneration period of the catalyst is more than one year, which is far beyond the design value, and all the technical indicators meet the production requirement.

The SEB-08 highly-efficient dry-gas-to-ethylbenzene catalyst was produced by SINOPEC Catalyst Co., Ltd. with the technology from SINOPEC Shanghai Research Institute of Petrochemical Technology. During the operation, technical experts from the two organizations have offered on site technical services several times. Stable operation of the plant and catalyst was guaranteed by optimizing the dry gas feed and controlling the inlet temperature of catalyst bed.
