The research and application project of “Efficient FCC Regenerable Flue Gas SOx Transfer Agent” co-sponsored by China Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, Sinopec Guangzhou Company, Sinopec Jiujiang Company and Sinopec Catalyst Company recently passed the technical evaluation of Sinopec Group Company. The project obtained 9 patent rights in China, generating 4 Sinopec proprietary technology. Having undertaken the research for new carrier technology, new active component soakage technique, new formulation technology and preparation process of SOx transfer agent, the project has worked out the RFS－09 SOx transfer agent and completed its commercial test on units. The transfer rate of SOx transfer agent is between 79% and 92%. Comparing with other technical methods of reducing the FCC flue gas SOx emission，the application of SOx transfer agent does not require transformation of the units, it is easy to handle and highly flexible which will be more economic and effective.
